No Secret, But Still...

We all knew the Human Rights Campaign and its leaders were behind Hillary Clinton, but you'd think they could at least show the appearance of fairness. Activist and blogger Michael Petrelis did some digging at the FEC into who at the Human Rights Campaign donated how much to which Democratic Presidential candidate this year. Executive director Joe Solmonese, who interviewed all the candidates for the HRC/Logo as if he were objective, gave zero dollars to Obama. Same for David Smith, HRC vice president:

FEC records show which 2008 Democratic contenders were lucky enough to take in dollars from the top people at HRC:

Hillary Clinton: $4,300
Chris Dodd: $3,000
John Edwards: $ 750
Bill Richardson: $ 500
Barack Obama: $ 0

Suprised?

UPDATE: In fairness, let us point out that Solmonese did not give any money to Clinton's campaign either, though VP David Smith -- whom we've had on the show to specifically talk about endorsements -- gave $2300 to Hillary Clinton. Let me also say that we don't agree with the thundering assessments of HRC and its leaders (using this information) currently coming from other, more conservative quarters.
