A True Supporter in the Governor's Mansion

I don't know the numbers or places offhand, but just by casual observation it seems to me that many mayors and local politicians march in LGBT pride parades, and sometimes an occasional U.S. senator, but it's not often you see a governor marching. In fact, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts seemed to be an anomaly just a few weeks ago. But Gov. David Paterson of New York, who has been committed to the issue of marriage rights for many years and certainly since taking office after Eliot Spitzer stepped down, marched in the pride parade yesterday in Manhattan. He has marched every year since 1976 and was not about to stop now.
