Guns in Georgia
Well, last week's Supreme Court ruling on the Second Amendment is giving all kinds of "cover" to really, really dumb legislation. The latest bit of insanity, which we had quite a heated discussion about on the show months ago, comes from Georgia, where a new law (which takes effect today) allows people to carry guns on public transportation and in restaurants which serve alcohol. After all, who doesn't like to caress their mannlicher carcano while nursing a whiskey sour at the local Hometown Buffet? Plus, everyone knows guns and booze mix so well!
In fact, the new law is so sweeping that the City of Atlanta and gun advocates are set to have a showdown over whether they have the right to carry concealed weapons at the airport... oy...it's scary that this is how far the pendulum has swung.
