LA Mayor Pulls Out of HRC Event

In yet another embarrassment for the Human Rights Campaign -- and a reminder that the anger and concern over their position on dropping transgender rights from ENDA has only grown -- Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa pulled out at the last minute out as keynote speaker for HRC's San Francisco fundraising dinner over the weekend.

The dinner was already the target of a boycott by San Francisco activists, and the City Supervisors had passed a resolution backing the boycott. Apparently the fact that the San Francisco Labor Council backed the boycott is what moved Villaraigosa to act.
