Time For Michael Savage To Be "Boldly Awakened"
Michael (his real name is Weiner) Savage, talk show host, refuses to back down from his vicious tirade about autistic children, attempting to spin it all by saying he was trying to "boldly awaken" parents of autistic children:
"In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, `Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, you idiot.'"If those comments reek of machismo and homophobia to you, you'll remember that Weiner was fired in 2003 from MSNBC when he blasted a caller to his show as a "sodomite" and added that he should "get AIDS and die.
Parents and friends of autistic individuals are now calling for Savage's firing as well, and protests are mounting. Could this be a well deserved "Don Imus moment" for Savage?
