The Big Finale

It was an amazing experience to do the show today from Invesco Field, while Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow and Jennifer Hudson were rehearsing for tonight's performances at the DNC, before Barack Obama's speech. And of course, this is happenning on the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech. The stage, which Republicans claimed looks like a Grecian temple, is actually evoking the Lincoln Memorial (where King gave that speech on this day in 1963), and it looks very much like Washington. It includes classical columns, lots of American flags and glass window panes (something I don't recall the Greeks had) looking more like the White House than the Acropolis.

Lots of discussion about last night's speakers. Don't forget that tonight we are back on the air at at 8 EST (6 MST, 5 PST) doing special coverage of the convention, listening the speeches and of course Barack Obama's speech, and taking calls. I'll be joined by producer David Guggenheim and Sirius OutQ news director Tim Curran.
