But Hildebrand soon thereafter appeared to pull back. He said that the president got the message after a meeting Hildebrand had with him in the Oval Office and that he had faith things would move along more quickly. Months later many believe the president continues to move too slowly, however, and that DADT repeal will be lost if the White House doesn't lead on a vote this year for repeal.
