Discussing Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul's interviews last week in which he questioned the 1964 Civil Rights Act's provision on banning racial discrimination in public accommodations -- on the basis that it infringed on the freedoms on private business -- we took many calls from people weighing. While I didn't ask for Rand Paul defenders to chime in, several callers did in fact defend his positions. One of them was Shannon from Alabama, with whom I debated the issue.
