Today on the Signorile Show

Last night was a big night for women, (albeit, mostly wealthy Republican businesswomen) in several primaries across the country. Arkansas Senator Blanche Lincoln survived, as progressives felt stung and the White House put out a nasty gloating comment. In South Carolina, the race for governor goes into a runoff, with Palin-backed Nikki Haley almost getting the 50% needed to win. In California, Ebay founder Meg Whitman took the Republican primary for governor while former HP president Carly Fiorina will go up against Sen. Barbara Boxer in November. Both candidates ran as supporters of Prop 8, the constitutional amendment that bans marriage for gays and lesbians (but were backed by the gay Republican group GoProud!). And there's lots more in other states. We'll go through the results.

Citizen's for Repeal, a group representing gay and lesbian active duty soldiers, has sent a letter to the Pentagon regarding the study being conducted and the lack of participation from those gay and lesbian servicemembers currently serving. According to the Denver Post, "the lack of input 'will result in failure to show that the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' policy has allowed the worst of atrocities to occur in our military and go unreported.

It shouldn't come as a shock that officials now say oil has been found deep beneath the surface of the water in the Gulf, and up to 142 miles away. But what should outrage you is that BP CEO Tony Heyward just a week ago disputed claims of underwater plumes, saying there was "no evidence" they existed.

Guest / 3:30pm EST - Michael Musto, columnist with The Villiage Voice, joins us this afternoon to talk about Elton John's million dollar performance at the wedding of gasbag job Rush Limbaugh.

Guest / 4:30pm EST - Is GetEQUAL the new HRC? That's the question Bil Browning of Bilerico is asking, though the group's hardly share the same politics and tactics, and one is actually a reaction to the other. He joins us today to talk about why he thinks so.

How did you sleep last night? Did you get your full eight hours? According to Dr. Nerina Ramlakhan, sleep isn't about quantity, it's about quality. We'll go through the do's and don't of a good nights sleep she lists and get your thoughts on catching some Zzz's!
