Today On The Signorile Show

3:35pm ET - Last Thursday, a few hours after a federal judge in Texas struck down that state’s voter ID law, calling it an “unconstitutional poll tax” intended to discriminate against Hispanic and African-American citizens, the Supreme Court halted Wisconsin’s new controversial voter ID law.  All of this follows The Supreme Court’s ruling that has allowed North Carolina to implement its voter suppression law which eliminates same-day voter registration and out-of-precinct voting, potentially throwing the upcoming election there into chaos.  Joining us today to make sense of these conflicting rulings and explain what we can all expect with regards to the Republican Party’s push to suppress the voting rights of American Citizens is Ian Millhiser, the Senior Constitutional Policy Analyst at the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Editor of ThinkProgress Justice.  He is also the author of the upcoming book INJUSTICES: The Supreme Court's History of Comforting the Comfortable and Afflicting the Afflicted which will be published in March by Public Affairs Books
