3:35pm ET - Despite the defeat suffered by the Democrats on Tuesday there were some positive things that happened for progressives as a result of the midterm elections.  One of those things was the election of John McCrostie to the Idaho state legislator for District 16, John is the first openly gay man to be elected to statewide office there and he joins us to discuss his victory, the issues he will be fighting for, and how he plans to deal with Idaho’s anti-gay Governor Butch Otter.

4:35pm ET - Who is the real Vladimir Putin, how did he come to power, and what are his intentions?  These are some of the questions answered in Russian Scholar Karen Dawisha’s new book Putin’s Kleptocracy: Who owns Russia?, which describes how Putin and the cabal he brought with him to power has looted billions of dollars from the Russian people.   She details and exposes the origins of Putin’s kleptocratic regime and presents extensive new evidence about the Putin circle’s use of public positions for personal gain even before Putin became president in 2000. She joins us today to talk about her book.
