Today on The Signorile Show!

3:35pm ET - On Saturday, while most of the darlings of the right-wing were attending Rep. Steve King’s Iowa Freedom Summit, Louisiana’s Governor Bobby Jindal was the headline speaker at The Response, an evangelical prayer revival organized by the hate group the American Family Association.  The event was supposed to be apolitical in nature, but it has been widely viewed as part of the rollout for Jindal's run for president.  Joining us today to discuss the event and Bobby Jindal’s possible run in 2016 is Zack Kopplin a science education activist who attended the revival and wrote all about it for Slate.  You can also follow Zack on twitter and facebook.

4:35pm ET - Richard Pryor may have been the most unlikely star in Hollywood history. Raised in his family’s brothels, his early years were full of trying and traumatic experiences, which are what originally, led him to take to the stage, all in an effort to escape the brutal realities of that childhood.  Only later in his career would he come to the realization that by plunging into the depths of his experience, he could make stand-up comedy as exhilarating and harrowing as the life he’d known.   Joining us today to discuss how he brought together the spirits of the black freedom movement and the counterculture to forever alter the fabric of American comedy is Scott Saul, an associate Professor of English at UC-Berkeley who wrote a new biography on Richard titled Becoming Richard Pryor which traces Pryor’s rough journey to the heights of fame.  You can also follow Scott on twitter and facebook.
