The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

On Monday, in a historic moment Jackie Biskupski was sworn in as Salt Lake City's first openly gay mayor.   However, Mayor Biskupski is no stranger to making history, she was also Utah’s first openly gay state legislator back in 1998 where she served for 13-years before going on to work with Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office.  She joins me today to talk all about her historic election and the progress made for LGBT rights in Utah.  You can also follow Mayor Biskupski on twitter.

Last week, the I.R.S. released data that shows that tax rates on the income of America’s 400 wealthiest taxpayers rose sharply in 2013, erasing a majority of the last two decades’ decline in their effective tax rate.  The spike in their tax rates was mostly achieved through initiatives championed by President Obama.  Joining me today in studio to talk all about the I.R.S. data and the effect the increased revenue will have from a public policy perspective is Josh Barro a domestic correspondent for The New York Times, where he writes for The Upshot, a Times politics and policy site.  You can also follow Josh on twitter.
