The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

In the fall of 2011, we focused a lot on the trial of 17 year-old Brandon McInerney, who in 2008 at the age of 14 shot his classmate Larry King in the back of the head.  King would go onto die at the age of 15 two days later.  The reason for the murder was nothing more than fear and intolerance with McInerney basically using the gay panic defense because King was dressing as a girl and identifying as “Leticia”.  Joining us now to talk about the murder, the trial, and to answer the question as to how something like this happened is Ken Corbett, who has written the new book, A Murder Over A Girl: Justice, Gender,Junior High all about this tragic and troubling case.
