The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

Since his election as Governor of Kansas, conservative Republican Sam Brownback has plunged the state into fiscal problem after fiscal problem.  The budgetary woes which have been a recurring theme during the two-term tenure of Governor Brownback, are a direct result of a series of deep tax cuts that he ushered in after taking office, and now it was just reported by the Kansas budget office that things are about to get even worse in the Sunflower State.  Joining me today to talk all about Kansas' never-ending budget mess is Russell Berman is a senior associate editor at The Atlantic.

Since the Supreme Court ruled in favor of marriage equality last June we have been experiencing a wave of anti-LGBT backlash across the country, and the latest front in this ongoing fight is the recent spate of anti-LGBT legislation aimed at restricting access to public restrooms. Lawmakers in at least 16 states, have considered so-called bathroom bills this year, and the speed at which they've emerged across the country, often with similar or identical language, raises the possibility that these bills are part of a coordinated effort.  Joining me today to talk all about the group of lawyers behind this assault on the civil rights of transgender Americans is Samantha Michaels the copy editor at Mother Jones who wrote all this group in article on MotherJones.com.
