The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

Yesterday, a person in North Carolina used a bathroom, and while this would not be news in almost any other state, in North Carolina, it’s now a revolutionary act of political protest.  Mara Keisling, the head of the National Center for Transgender Equality and a transgender woman, used the women’s bathroom in Gov. Pat McCrory’s office yesterday while working to repeal HB 2, which bars transgender people from using public bathrooms that match their gender identity, and she joins me today on the show to talk all about the bill and the protests that happened at the North Carolina State House yesterday.  You can also follow Mara on Twitter.

We have all heard the phrase “you’ll sleep when you’re dead” and according to Arianna Huffington, the co-founder and editor in chief of The Huffington Post, we are in the midst of a sleep deprivation crisis, which has profound consequences on our health, job performance, relationships, and happiness. In her new book The Sleep Revolution: Transforming Your Life, One Night at a Time she argues that what is needed, is nothing short of a sleep revolution.  Arianna joins me today on the show to talk all about her new book, latest science on what exactly is going on while we sleep and dream and the ways our addiction to technology disrupts our sleep.
