Last Tuesday, Jared Yates Sexton, a creative writing professor at Georgia Southern University traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina, to report on a Donald Trump rally and live-tweet the proceedings. But, what he witnessed at the event and described in his tweets both shocked him and much of the country, and his description of the rally went viral and he agreed to write a dispatch for The New Republic, which gave it the headline “American Horror Story.” The story, like his earlier tweets also went viral and that’s when the harassment, and ultimately the death threats, began. Jared joins me today on the show to talk all about his experience at the Trump Rally and the death threats and harassment he has been receiving since.
