Formerly one of the
most liberal states in the union, on election night of 2016, Wisconsin was the
state that put Trump over the top. The state that nurtured the environmental
and labor movements moved away from its progressive history to become a
laboratory for conservative forces. Journalist and Wisconsin-native Dan Kaufman writes about these and other
shifts in the state in his new book, The Fall of Wisconsin: The Conservative Conquest of a Progressive Bastion and the Future of American Politics. He
joins me in the studio to talk all about it.
