New Book: McClellan Attacks Bush -- and Media!
This is rich. Now peddling a memoir, Scott McClellan is lambasting the Bush administration for the lies that he too floated and the facts he too covered up for this administration -- and he's blaming the media for not doing its job in exposing the very distortions he disseminated!
Now, I agree with him on the media hacks not doing their jobs, and it's fun seeing how defensive they're getting on CNN right now. But this was the guy who was charged with actually fending off and deflecting reporters' questions, when they got that once-in-a-blue-moon urge to ask anything remotely tough. He vilified people and attacked the media again and again when it even approached getting to the truth re: the war in Iraq. Now he attacks the media for duping him as well -- says he was "out of the loop" on most of the Bush lies, pushing stories that he was told were true but that the White House didn't make him privy to their fabrications. So, it's the media's fault for not knocking through his wall of obfuscations and informing him of what the truth really was -- as if he would have stepped down in protest.
We knew they'd all be jumping ship toward the end, trying salvage their reputations, but this is pretty hilarious! That said, we'll certainly take every tell-all we can get. We'll have fun on the show with this one for sure.
