New Poll: Majority in CA Favor Marriage Equality

This poll is significant for a few reasons: 1) It's the first time any poll in CA has shown a majority favoring marriage for gays; 2) It's coming after the California Supreme Court ruling came down, a time when the initial shock might create a backlash, even if momentarily (in fact, it seems to have gone the other way); 3) As noted in a previous post about an earlier poll, political analysts say ballot measures in CA usually have to poll substantially well for the proponents at this point in order to win by even a little bit.

On the show shortly after the ruling I discussed the reasons why this all may be, why we are likely to win in California -- it's all in the video on this site in the column to the left (SignorileVideo), which if from last week. A lot of what we discussed does indeed seem to be playing out. All good news, but we need to work hard, and everyone across the country needs to go to EqualityforAll.com and do what they can.
