Free Speech vs. Hate Speech

It's a touchy subject -- and so of course we'll be talking about it on the show today-- and it's often hard to decide when or if censorship should ever be tolerated. This article from the NY Times compares speech rights in the US and other Western democracies that uphold human rights. Other nations approach "the right to offend" very differently than we do, and now some scholars are saying we should follow their lead, rather than continue what they perceive as an absolutist rule on the first amendment. What do you think? Should hate speech be limited?
