McCain Disconnections
There's lots of talk today about the discontent among Republicans and how, if John McCain wants to win, he's going to have to stop drinking Charlie Black's Kool-Aid.
Despite the sinking economy, McCain continues to make national security and Iraq the focal point of his campaign. There are just a few tiny problems with this strategy: like the fact that most Americans oppose McCain's position on Iraq. Talking about national security also keeps McCain from addressing the economy, which ranks as the most important issue this election among most voters.
Instead of risking the appearance that he is "in touch" with ordinary people by talking about their financial anxieties, McCain will continue to jabber on about continuing our various endless wars. Now if only he could figure out a way to solve the mortgage crisis by bombing foreclosed houses.
