On Today's Show
Actor Raymond Burr was a bit of an enigma. Burr played a number of roles in film and on TV but is best known for playing the honest defense attorney, Perry Mason and later, the wheelchair-bound for San Francisco chief of police on Ironside. What you may not know about Burr is that he was also a closeted gay who invented dead spouses and phony romances with Natalie Wood to hide the truth about himself from the public. We'll talk about Burr at 3:30 EST with author Rick Starr who has just published a biography called Hiding in Plain Sight: The Secret Life of Raymond Burr.
Then at 4:30 EST we revisit a subject that's already come up on the blog and the show before: "pro-life" christian pharmacies. Senior Counsel of National Women's Law Center, Jill Morrison will speak to us about the trend and what impact pharmacies that refuse to sell birth control products will have on women's health.
