On Today's Show

At 3:30 EST memoirist and editor Mark Matousek will come on the program to discuss his new book When You're Falling, Dive: Lessons in the Art of Living . In the book Matousek examines how to deal with issues of trauma and loss with information gleaned from interviews with famous survivors like Joan Didion, Elie Wiesel, and Isabel Allende. It should be an illuminating conversation.

Then at 4:30 EST award winning journalist Naomi Klein joins us to talk about her book The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, now out in paperback. Klein's analytical skills are top notch and her observations on how our leaders use catastrophe as an opportunity to push their own economic and social agendas (at the expense of the rest of us) are both accurate and unnerving.
