Today On The Michelangelo Signorile Show!

3:35pm ET - On Tuesday the general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board ruled that the Fast Food giant McDonald’s could be held jointly liable for labor and wage violations by its franchise operators.  This decision, if upheld, would disrupt longtime labor practices in the fast-food industry and could ease the way for workers to unionize across the country.  Joining us to explain this ruling and how it will affect the struggle for fare pay and basic rights for these workers in Julius Getman, a labor law professor at the University of Texas.

4:35pm ET - It’s not surprising that Americans are obsessed with dogs—according to journalist Benoit Denizet-Lewis in his new book Travels With Casey: My Journey Through Our Dog-Crazed Country, America has the highest rate of dog ownership “on the planet.” Like many insecure dog owners, Benoit was worried that his nine-year-old Labrador mix Casey didn't like him very much, so he embarked on a four-month cross country road trip with his dog, to explore their relationship as well as that of the Americans and their dogs they encountered along the way. He joins us to talk about his book, which is both a memoir and a travelogue. You can also follow Benoit on twitter and facebook.
