Last month, the EmpireState Pride Agenda (ESPA), a leading LGBT advocacy group in New York State announced that it will disband this year, citing the fulfillment of a 25-year campaign for equality. The announcement took many people by surprise and has left many advocates for the LGBT community, questioning what the future will hold as a result of the critical legislative role that ESPA played in the state. Joining me today to discuss the decision to close up shop and who will be picking up ESPA’s slack is Paul Schindler, the Founding Editor-in-Chief & Associate Publisher Gay City News & Manhattan Express.
