One only has to turn on the news for few minutes these days to see that US has a growing problem with domestic extremism, and according to a new report released by the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism, more people were killed by domestic extremists in 2015 than in the prior two years combined. Furthermore, last year was the deadliest single year for such violence since 1995, when a federal building in Oklahoma City was bombed by men with ties to the U.S. militia movement. Joining me today to talk all about the report and its findings is Mark Pitcavage, the Senior Research Fellow at the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism and the creator of the Militia Watchdog website and the Director of Fact Finding for the ADL. The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127
Just before Christmas it was revealed that Federal
Government had devised a strategy of home raids to break up hundreds of migrant
families and now the initial operations have begun, yet despite the fact that Donald
Trump may be taking credit for the idea, he didn’t authorize the plan; Barack
Obama did. Joining me today to talk all
about how America’s anti-immigrant hysteria has hit an unprecedented new low is
David Dayen a contributing writer to
Salon who wrote all about how this harsh
and previously rare deportation tactic is putting people in real danger. You can also follow David on twitter.
For the past five days,
a militia organized by Ammon Bundy have taken over the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon in an effort to protest what they see as a government
overreach of public land. But why the Malheur
National Wildlife Refuge? According to
my guest, Nancy Langston, this isn’t the first time there has been conflict
with ranchers in the region. She joins
us today to discuss that history and the threats that ranchers have felt in the
past over Federal involvement at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. You can also follow Nancy on twitter.
